When teaching adults Spanish they often tell us theyre worried that learning a new language will be difficult and too academic. That they won’t be able to pronounce things or remember new words, or that the grammar will defeat them. For la Academia Spanish for adults is about making learning easy and fun. Songs are a great way for students of all ages to learn Spanish.

Meet Ingrid Alcalde, one of our Spanish tutors. Ingrid is from Spain and is a qualified teacher and an Educational Psychologist. Which all sounds quite scary but . . . Ingrid is also a singer songwriter. She says that, ‘A problem for teachers is to find songs for adults that are not too childish, so I covered a popular and modern song and made my own lyrics related to the topic I was teaching — Body parts. My students loved it’. And it’s easy to see why.

The song is definitely not childish. Its a reworking of ‘Reggaeton Lento’ which Little Mix covered with hot Latino boy band CNCO. It’s beautifully sung by Ingrid, is very catchy and well worth seeing. Find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo7uZdqSiqk

Ingrid’s plan is to make more videos to give our teachers more material for their adult students. We applaud you Ingrid.
