Wondering what learning a new language has got to do with International Men’s Day  (every 19th November)? Good question.

This annual day is a global movement to champion men’s wellbeing, positive conversations about masculinity, and awareness of issues affecting boys and men. And you know what? Learning a new language plays a vital role.

This is because language learning supports and promotes confidence, curiosity, and connection. And these things are life-changing, at any age.

It builds community. It keeps the brain sharp. It enables greater self-expression. And it connects males of all demographics to new cultures and friendships.

At award-winning language school la Academia, we’re all for helping you become the best version of yourself. And what better time to celebrate some of the men who’re making the magic happen?

Meet the International Men Behind the Vocab and Grammar

We’re lucky to have many world class tutors on our staff list, each bringing their culture, humour and personality to the classroom or screen.

A few legends we’re celebrating on International Men’s Day include:

  • Ruben Cnobel – Spanish and English – Our entrepreneurial leader of the pack brings his unique Argentine energy and two decades’ experience coaching business executives and football pros with powerful tailored language learning.
  • Guido Bozzi – Italian – Your Tuscan-born teacher for culture-packed lessons at all levels, exam prep, or just for the love of it.
  • Liam Crawford – Spanish GCSE – Exam whisperer, confidence-builder, and overall student hero.
  • Ricardo Lamperez – Spanish – Former TV and culture journalist with serious storytelling and language muscle. You’ll come for the words, and stay for the wonder.
  • Fernando Navarrete – Spanish – Bilingual brilliance from Extremadura, with Roman, Arabic and Baroque stories baked in, making every lesson a new adventure.
  • Rino Pucci – Italian – “Learning a language is learning a lifestyle.” Expect Rossini, Ferrari red, prosecco, and pasta talk. Vi aspetto in classe!
  • Karl Poynter – social media – Not a tutor, but still integral for sharing language joy with the world.

Your Catalyst for Connection, Confidence & Wellbeing

International Men’s Day advocates men’s mental, emotional, and social wellbeing.  Learning a new language is a powerful route in.

After all, language becomes more than solely a means of communication with the right tutor by your side. Moreover, it expands into identity, empowerment, and community.
